Tribute
Shirley Denton Morris, 75, of Youngsville passed away Friday, June 11, 2021 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Louise Denton, brothers, William “Buddy” Denton and Harvey Denton (Edna), daughter, Donna Lee Pittman, son, Johnny Morris, sister in-law, Maxine Porter and grandson, Mark Hanson.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. in the Bright Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A private burial will be held in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 26 years, John Nelson Morris, daughters, Shelia Pittman (Greg) of Spring Hope, Jennifer House (Derek) and Rhonda Alderman (Jake) both of Wake Forest, Tonya Morris, Kim Hanson (Mark) and son Tom Morris all from PA, sister, Debbie Pearce of Zebulon, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brother in-law, Ed Porter (Barb), sister in-law, Marie Denton, an uncle, Danny Jones (Brenda), along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a graduate of Wake Forest High School and was a retired quality assurance inspector from both Schrader Bellows and Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical. After retirement, Shirley worked as a caregiver. She loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, attending gospel singings and her flower gardens. She will truly be missed by all those that knew and loved her.
