Tammy Mason Ray, 55, of Franklinton, NC, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Wake Medical Center. The daughter of Gloria Watson Mason and the late Larry Dean Mason, she was born on February 24, 1966 in Valdese, NC. Tammy enjoyed going to the beach, the lake, and spending time with her friends and family.
She had many friends that have become family over the years. She could make anyone smile in any situation and was quite literally the life of any gathering. Her light shined through everything she did. She was known for her fierce passion, her commitment to her community, her open and loving heart, loyalty to her friends, and dedication to her family.
Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Larry Dean Mason.
Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Gloria Watson Mason, sons John Michael Ray (Destiny), Jacob Mason Ray (Trian Kouns), sister Jersey “Dolly” Watson, and the apples of her eye, grandsons Colton Mason Ray and Wyatt Mitchell Ray, as well as all of her friends that have become family.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Franklinton, NC on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Dr., Ste. 900, Arlington, VA 22202, or the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
