At the age of 20, she was married to Thomas S. Owens and they were blessed with three children. In 1977, she married Carl McConnell of Cary, North Carolina finding much joy and happiness until his passing on August 7, 2014.
For many years, she was an active member of Green Level Baptist Church in Cary, where she volunteered in many hospitality roles as well as teaching Sunday School and serving at Vacation Bible School until her health began to decline.
She was predeceased by her oldest daughter, Carlene Ann Moore Turrow in 2019 and is survived by her son Thomas S. Owens III and his wife, Vicci; her daughter Eloise Traie Owens and her husband, Chuck Walkley; her grandchildren Kathleen Moore, Cristin Owens Ratkowski and her husband Brad, Haley Amelia Garritano, Preston Owens; her great grandson, Braxton Ratkowski, her sister Margaret Jean Early; her nieces Ginny Lewis and Elizabeth Scott, and nephew Jack Early.
The family would like to thank Hillcrest Rehabilitation and Nursing of Wake Forest for the kindness and love they shared during her brief stay with them. We also thank Transitions Lifecare for their support.
A memorial service will be held for Maggie on May 1, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her honor to: www.alivingtribute.org.
