Francis William O’Brien, 62, of Wake Forest passed away after a five-month battle for his life. Frank enjoyed the simple things in life. A good glass of scotch or whiskey, could always be found reading a book, often times to his wife. He loved his knife and watch collections. He loved to watch TV and there was nothing better than the belly laughs that the Big Bang Theory would produce. Frank would drop everything to dance with his wife, Kris, to their song, “Brown Eyed Girl” every time it played no matter where they were.
He was an avid Marvel fan! His sense of humor was sub-Saharan- A wit no one could deny. You’d know he really liked something, if you saw him clapping with his feet. Loved a good Flea Market- He never turned down a bag of chips- He was an amazing handy man- if only we could get him to complete one project before starting the next. He loved family vacations no matter the destination. He was a father figure to many. Once he was in your corner, you knew he would always be there. Always willing to help anyone no matter how big or small the task. Frank was a great listener and offeror of wisdom and advice. Frank was an excellent gift giver. He thoroughly thought out all the gifts he gave, despite his aversion for shopping. Frank was an avid dog lover, especially his dogs Yona and Micah. Frank was not a man of many words- when he spoke, he always added value.
Frank was loved by more people than he ever knew and he will be sorely missed by us all.
Frank is preceded by his Mother and Father, Lorraine & Robert O'Brien and his late sister, Cathy.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Kris of 18 years, his son Christopher Pannesi-Fessler (Husband, Christian); brother Bob, brother Kevin (Wife, Kristen), and sister Claire (Wife, Debbie); nephews Konor and Kolby; niece Sophie; sister-in-laws Theresa Pannesi and Cindy Berenter; brother-in-law Ronald Pannesi; and Father & Mother In-Law Ann & Dr. Ronald Thomas Pannesi.
