Kimberly “Kim” Thomas Dawn – Obituary

Kimberly “Kim” Dawn Poole Thomas, 58, of Wendell, NC, passed away unexpectedly at her home on the evening of May 22, 2022. She was born in Raleigh, NC on September 1, 1963. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wyatt Macklin “Mack” Poole, Sr. and Helen Louise Wortham Poole.

Kim was fortunate to be born the youngest of three siblings and she wasn’t just the baby of the family. Her sister, Terry, loved her like she was her own and her brother, Lin, shared many common interests with her. She looked up to and admired both of her siblings. She came from a large family and her love for them all overflowed. She was the youngest ever graduate from Troutman’s College of Hair Styling at the time, working most of her life as a cosmetologist, as well as serving as a Notary Public in the state of NC. Kim was a hard worker and always dedicated to her craft. She was strong and resilient. She met the love of her life, Jim, in the mid 80’s and from the very first date she knew he was the one who completed her. From the first date until the day of her death, the two were inseparable. She was his girlfriend, wife, and the mother of his children but most of all, she was his very best friend. She loved him fiercely and stood by him no matter what. Kim was a loving mother and grandmother who cared deeply for all "her babies." She spent countless hours helping with homework, school projects, attending games, practices, recitals, award ceremonies, etc., She never missed an opportunity to show love and support to her children and grandchildren. She was such a selfless person always putting others over herself. She will truly be missed.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, James “Jim” Thomas, as well as her children, Rachael Thomas and Austin Thomas, her grandchildren, Aurora-Nysa Saykosy, Tristain Saykosy and Sebastian Liles, her sister, Terry Poole Martin (Tim) and their children and grandchildren and her brother, Wyatt “Lin” Poole II (Trisha) and their son.
