Unique Chavis Traquan – Obituary

Unique Traquan ChavisUnique Traquan Chavis was born December 19, 1999, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.  Unique was a 2018 graduate of Franklinton High School.  He worked various jobs, starting as an early teen, from Sandling Golf Carts and later worked in several landscaping positions.  He had lots of knowledge of all machines and tractors and enjoyed working outside and with his hands. 

Unique loved fishing, hunting, and enjoyed listening to varieties of music.  He was the life of every party and loved to make people laugh.  Unique had an infectious smile, beautiful brown eyes, and the softest brown curls.  He was the oldest child, the big brother, but was always the baby of his family's heart.

Unique was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Tony Dorsey and Lee Chavis; his aunt, Angela Chavis and his step-grandmother Hazel Perry.  He is survived by his mother, Tanya Dorsey-Perry and his step father Anthony Perry, father Greg Chavis; sister Destiny Chavis and her daughter Hope, brothers Ayden and Braylon Perry, stepbrother Frank Moore and stepsister Anthonay Perry; grandmothers Debbie Dorsey,  Shirley Lunsford and Carrie Brodie, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Unique also leaves behind a special companion Harley Ellington.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 5:00 PM at Franklinton Baptist Church with the Rev. David Averette presiding.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 4:00 PM in the sanctuary.  Internment will be at Fairview Cemetery following services.
