Dorothy Woodard Mae – Obituary

Dorothy Mae WoodardDorothy Mae Eason Woodard, 87, of Raleigh went to meet her Lord on Sunday afternoon, October 9, 2022. She was born in Johnston County on May 9, 1935, the daughter of the late Flonnie Mae Lee and George Eason.

Dorothy was a member of Neuse Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and worked in the church nursery. She enjoyed gardening, watching men’s professional golf, Bible word search along with reading her Bible daily. She was a great prayer warrior and a pen pal to the missionaries.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, October 14, 2022 in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home with Pastor Bric Bolin officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens in Wake Forest.

Mrs. Woodard is survived by her children; Jerry Woodard and his wife Betty of Youngsville, Debra Strickland and her husband Donald of Youngsville, Teresa Stubblefield of Raleigh, six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two great great granddaughters, a sister; Marie Edwards and her husband Warren of Beaufort, NC, a brother; Jimmy Eason and his wife Judy of Selma and several special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Ralph, a daughter; Cynthia Dianne Storms and siblings; Elton Eason, Mary Elizabeth Eason Collins.

Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center Wake Forest, NC 27587.
