Helen Joyce Day Haynes

Helen Joyce Day Haynes, 85, of Wake Forest, passed away Sunday evening, April 26, 2015. She was the daughter of Fred Eldridge and Ruby Bryson Day of Garner. She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church where she was the choir director and organist for over 30 years. She was also a former deacon, Sunday School teacher and music leader in Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Haynes graduated from Garner High School and Women’s College (UNC-G), majoring in piano. She was a very gifted pianist, teaching private piano lessons from her home and playing for numerous weddings and funerals.
Mrs. Haynes enjoyed many hobbies including traveling, gardening, mining gems with her husband, Page, playing Rook, and putting puzzles together.
Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, April 29, 2015 at Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Marshall Neathery officiating. Burial will be in Montlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Haynes was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Edwin Page Haynes. She is survived by her children, Byron Day Haynes and wife, Joyce of Selma, Diana “Winky” Page Haynes Perry and husband, Ronnie of Rolesville and Bonnie Joy Haynes Rodriguez and husband, Carlos of Graham; grandchildren, Eric Byron Haynes of Selma, Rebecca Page Perry and fiance, Joseph Coward of Onley, Maryland, Jenna Nicole Perry Kuhls and husband, Timothy of Rolesville and Lillie Page Dickerson Mullins and husband, Andrew of Oxford; great-grandchildren, Mason Thomas Kuhls and Jackson Orion Mullins.
Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to the Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund, 190 Woodland Church Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
Friends may visit with the family from 12:00-1:00PM Wednesday prior to the service at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 South Main Street, Wake Forest, NC 27587. (919-556-5811)
